FEBRUARY 2010

 On Wednesday February 10th Ghostfire resume their recording activities at the very, very swanky studio at Bucks University in High Wycombe. Aided and abetted by the voka-lovin' Warren Bassett once again. Tracks on the agenda this time round are 'Smoke and Mirrors' and 'Dance of Fate'.  We hope to have something ready for your aural delectation very soon indeed.
 
Ghostfire's new single, 'The Last Steampunk Waltz' b/w 'Hand of Glory' will be released as a digital download on April 5th, 2010. You will find it on iTunes, eMusic, Napster, amazonmp3, PLAY.com, Sony Ericsson, Shazam, Virgin mobile, Vodafone live!, Spotify, 7digital.com, T-Mobile, Rhapsody, HMV,  Tesco and Orange. It will be available in physical form sometime before that. Date to be announced. Pre-orders will shortly be available from the Ghostfire store. 

JANUARY 2010

The London Steampunk Spectacular, which ran on Jan 23rd at the Cross Kings public house, was a resounding success. It sold out, The Guardian gave it a prominent mention in their weekend Guide, The Evening Standard, Bizarre and a few other journalists pitched up, and everybody had a fantastic time. We'll be repeating the whole experience later on this year. Watch this space.

On January 21st our upcoming single, 'The Last Steampunk Waltz' received its first airing on BBC Radio Cambridge. Sue Marchant's show also went out on BBC Three Counties Radio, Radio Essex and a few other regionals. 

 

 HALLOWE'EN 2009

OCTOBER 2009

On October 7th, Ghostfire hit High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, (appropriately enough the town which played host to the infamous Hellfire Club), for the first instalment in the recording of our next single, 'Waltz'. Yes, it really is a waltz! Bass and drums done - the rest a work in rapid progress. After intense deliberation of at least ten minutes, we decided on 'Hand of Glory' as the accompanying track. The studio was uncommonly upmarket, and you can find pictures of us in it in the photo gallery.

 

SEPTEMBER 2009

Ghostfire feature strongly in issue 6 of Steampunk Magazine - newly published today (Sept 2nd). They run both an interview with us and a very lovely review of our EP, 'Drunk Lullabies'. AUGUST 2009

In a year blighted by fluctuating personnel, Ghostfire are now bloody ecstatic to announce the arrival of new singer, Mister E, and bassist Marcelo (from Brasil). With a full and committed line-up, expect lots more gigs and new recordings in the very near future.
